Braces 2.0 with Quid.am: The Holster-Style Brace

Auteur : Charlotte Bonnardot / 27 juin 2025

What a pleasure it is to introduce these holster-style braces—part of a special limited-edition collection!
This range was created in collaboration with Quid.am!

Quid.am takes ownership and reinvents braces in a bold holster style. What’s on the agenda? No hold-ups… just a truly inspiring collaboration.

So who’s behind Quid.am? Find out in this short interview with Aude Mullet.

So Aude, can you tell us a bit about yourself?

Well, my name is Aude Mullet and I currently live in Lille. I recently graduated from ESMOD, where I studied fashion design and pattern-making. I’ve always been involved in artistic activities since I was very young—drawing, theatre, life drawing, and more.

How did you come up with the idea for these reinvented braces? What inspires you?

To start with, the world of my collection brings together two very different styles… I wanted to combine a vintage design, inspired by early 20th-century menswear, with a modern and colourful twist drawn from street art.

For this collection, I worked with the artwork of street artist Mister P, especially his iconic portrait of General de Gaulle, which I transformed into a pattern! My aim was to merge these two worlds to create something original, contemporary, and eye-catching.

Did you encounter any challenges during this project?

The biggest challenge for this collection was, first of all, finding a street artist willing to let me use his image. Ideally, I would have loved to work directly with the artist, but scheduling made that difficult. Then, I had to make sure I respected his artistic and colour universe in the patterns I created!

What did you enjoy most about working on this project?

I really enjoyed creating the patterns based on Charles de Gaulle’s face! The challenge of combining colours, motifs and proportions to match the looks—while still respecting Mister P’s artistic spirit—was something I found particularly rewarding.

Why did you decide to go for holster-style braces?

I chose to use braces to bring a more vintage touch to the looks, while giving them a more original and modern twist. Especially with holster braces, as they offer a new take on how braces can be used.
They allow you to cinch in a shirt and create a pleat—adding a little quirky detail to the outfit.

What do you love about being a fashion designer?

For me, being a fashion designer is a chance to express myself through a world, a style, a period.
It’s about telling a story and bringing in new colours or shapes through clothing.
Personally, I hope to bring a bit of change and playfulness to men’s wardrobes.

What are your plans for the future?

Next, I’d like to gain some experience abroad. I want to discover different approaches, cultures and ways of working.
And maybe, after that, I’ll officially launch Quid.am—a concept I’ve really loved developing!

Thank you to Aude for this wonderful partnership. To purchase thee holster braces signed Quid.am, it’s this way!
